Interpreting North Node in Gemini

Hi Aquamarine,

I have read Jan's AFTS many times (North Node in Gemini) and have found it extremely accurate and helpful in trying to understand myself, my husband and others' in my life. There's one area that I struggle with constantly though. I read the the NN information and struggle with how to come up with what career/profession I would be the happiest in. And I just get more confused. Is it psychotherapy? Speaking? Human Behavior? It seems to be really people oriented -- understanding people's truths, etc but then there's a section that suggests just daily interactions with people bring me the most fulfilment... I'm just confused.

Aquamarine, did'nt I read somewhere that you where a NN in Gemini? How do you interpret this??

Yea... well my NN is in the 3rd House (in Cancer)... so, we're kinda related... in a way!

There is no clear-cut, easy answer for the questions you have Renee... but perhaps the following will be helpful:

What HOUSE is your NN in?

It works kinda like this: Your NN is in Gemini, so you already have experienced Lifetimes in forms of Higher Education, perhaps in Religious isolation, somehow pursuing your own sense of Truth (s.node in Sag).

Well, what HOUSE is your S. Node in? ~ That would have been the "Venue" for how you expressed & validated yourself in the world, (and thus were appropriately redeemed / supported / experienced) LIfe!

Sooooooooooo................. it kinda makes sense now that the "Venue" inwhich you are wanting to present yourself in the world now - (and if that means for you... a career or job), please consider the HOUSE that your NN falls in.

Perhaps this House is like, the "Arena" where you could find some direction as far as work, and the world will recognize that and accordingly PAY you!!! :D

Then from here... is where all the other "players" (planets) in your Natal come into Action to give you added information!

okay, I think I am getting it now...

From the natal chart generated via Jan's website, my:

NN is in sign Gemini & 3rd house
SN is in sign Sagg & 9th house

1) what does it mean in AFTS pg 11, "double the intensity of the same life lesson " for Duplicate sign/house positions?

2) the description of the 3rd house on your website reads:

Style of thinking, school (pre-college), siblings, the mind, sales, neighbors, short trips, learning, writing, teaching, reading, desire to mentally connect with others.

so i will start looking in those areas!!

3) also, where do i find my Part Of Fortune Sign & House on the free natal chart?

4) one interesting note... .. my husband's NN is in sign Cancer & 3rd house; SN is in sign Capricorn & 9th house

so we have the same houses but different signs -- i interpret this as our career 'arena's' might be simililar but the way we go about 'expressing ourselves in that arena will be different. how would you interpret this?

Good Question Renee... I just now called Jan & asked her for further clarification... she wanted you to know this: "Please let Renee know 2 things... One, that we go to the House (the Arena) of our North Node, to refine the Sign (expression of energies) of our North Node."

So... in your case the "double intensity" means actively participating in 3rd House "Stuff" ~ ...like you mention below.

Then, as you do these things, you will identify with new ways to exercise and/or refine any 3rd House (or Gemini) type attributes/talents/skills that at a Soul Level... you are wanting to experience & work on.

Embracing our NN can be the most awkward or frightening thing we dare do in our Life.. but use her analogy of the SN being an "over-exercised" muscle... and us needing to figure out how to exercise our NN... it takes practice!
