Hi

I have just started using New Moon Astrology. I have been wishing on new moons for years but I have finally gotten Jan's book and hope to take it to a whole new level. Just after getting the book I discovered that my Granddaddy Power Period had begun and it runs until July 15th. So what happens to the New Moon that falls within this time? Do I make my 40 wishes for my Power Period plus another 10 at the New Moon on July 6th or should I just leave it at my Power Period wishes? I have some wishes that are very important to me right now and I don't want to lessen the energy in any way at this time.

Hope someone can help! Thanks.

Hi Glyph! ~ I work for Jan & thought the following information may be helpful to you ;)

I asked Jan about adding additional New Moon Wishes during a person's GPP. Jan asked me to let you know: "No... that would be nice, but my research into this just doesn't substantiate any individual having success making 50 wishes. 40 Wishes maximum during Glyph's GPP."

I asked why? Jan: "Because the energy of the wishing gets too spread out and it just doesn't work because EVERY month has a New Moon in it. There will always be individuals every month that experience BOTH their Granddaddy Power Period AND a New Moon at the same time. And my experimenting with this proves it just doesn't work."

A focus on the quality of your wishes & the emotional response they give you would be more beneficial to you then a focus of the quantity of wishes you could make.

Hope this helps Glyph & Happy Wishology!!! :D

Thanks Aquamarine. That really helps. Sorry for the delay in replying but I couldn't log in for some reason. I'm so glad to have that cleared up because I really want the full strength of my wishes this month!
Cheers

My Grandaddy Power Period falls each year:
from July 17th (first day of your Grandaddy Power Period)
to August 14th (final day of your Grandaddy Power Period) I thought it was the new moon in that period, thanks to Message Board I learned that it was so, now can I wish just 10 wishes for day during the period until 40 wishes or is ok just 40 wishes at any given moment of the period?

The first time I read about Moon wishing was in an editorial in Dell Magazine, then after some new Moons I found Jan Book, and it works, now I'm passing a sort of test, and need to use the aid available, to work with not against the universe, so please if somebody can consider help me in advance i give you my thanks!

Dear chivi024,

I work on Jan's Support Team & thought the following information may be helpful to you and all people interested in Wishology during your Granddaddy Power Period (GPP).

Jan has communicated to me in the past that the Manifestations of Wishology works best when your focus is on how you feel - during the entire time the Sun is transiting your Natal 11th House ~ Thus, anytime during your GPP is appropriate for making Wishes!

In making wishes, I know that Jan always recommends that you need to trust yourself and consider all areas in you life: (family/work/career/finances/relationships/personal qualities & interests) that seem of most importance & resonate with you at an emotional level.

This will help you identify those areas that are accurate for you when making Wishes. Your emotional body serves as your guide and will help you identify Wishes that in harmony with that which you are wanting...

When making Wishes, a focus on "how that Wish makes you feel" is a response from your emotional body. Positive emotional responses are an indication from your emotional body that, YES! ~ There is a positive energy here that brings me pleasure to witness and therefore would also bring me pleasure to manifest.

Then via the Law of Attraction, including that imagery (in the form of writing down your specific Wish) ~ may be something you may want to write down as a Wish during your GPP!

Happy to "Quote" some of the Highlight's of Jan's Research into the Granddaddy Power Period for you from her book (pages 16-24) that may be helpful...

Quotes from Jan Spiller herself, in her book, New Moon Astrology

"To maximize results, it's not necessary to make wishes on every day of this time period. Personally, I am very aware during the days of my individual Granddaddy Power Period, and make it a priority to write down wishes as they occur to me during that time."

"During your GPP, the 'rules of the road' (like when you make wishes during a New Moon), except that you are allowed up to forty wishes! And you can make wishes during the entire time the Sun is transiting through you 11th House."

I hope this helps chivi024!!! :)

What time is used in the New Moon Tables in the New Moon's Spiller book? Is it Central, Eastern, Mountain, Greenwiich? I couldn't find that info in the book and I think it's important to know that.
Thanks

Good Question neska2!

I just asked Jan about that myself a few days ago... because like you, I couldn't find this.

Depending on which "printing" you have of New Moon Astrology ~ in mine on page 35 (the first page of the Tables of the New Moon) ~ you'll see the wording: "The following times listed for the monthly New Moon are in Eastern Standard Time".... etc.

Reason being... All of Jan's times in her books & on her Website are listed in "Standard Time" (ST) - for all four time zones in the USA: EST, CST, MST, & PST.

She does not adjust for Daylight Savings Time (DST) - which of course is going on now, i.e. "Spring forward" = +1 hour, which brings us to DST - "Fall back" = -1 hour, which returns us to "Standard Time".

Some States don't adjust for DST, like Arizona. And of course worldwide... many countries do not adjust for DST.

Since Jan's books are translated into several languages & read worldwide, many visitors to her Site are from Countries that do not employ DST (and Arizona) - Jan will always keep her times listed as ST - not using DST.

And for the sake of consistency, all times listed (unless otherwise noted) are EST. If you are observing Daylight Savings Time, simply convert directly into your time zone.

I just discovered that Jan is working with her Website design people for a World Map where people can press their location and immediately get the time conversion into their time zone.

So, something to look forward to in the future!

Hi:
Thanks for the answer. Anyway I think it would be helpful that in translation a note would be added about that. I have a Spanish translation and if they are guided by those times they would be missing the most powerful time to write down the wishes which is during the next 8 hours.

You are ABSOLUTELY right Olga! ~ Thank you so much for pointing out that this is missing information or needs to be better "NOTED" in the Spanish Translation of New Moon Astrology.

I will have to check with Jan's publishers to make sure that is better emphasized in future printings... and maybe we can try to make a more noticeable note of this on Jan's Website.

Thanks for your Help Olga! It is greatly appreciated! :D

Hi all. I`m new here, although I have Jan`s book New Moon Astrology, and have been making wishes on the New Moon for years. Question 1, I`ve heard that making wishes on the Full Moon also works, with the exception that the wishes are to get rid of things. Habits, addictions, etc. The thinking being that where New Moons brings things to you, the Full Moon takes things away. Has anyone heard of this? Question 2, it has been established that during your Grandaddy Power Period, you can make wishes ANYTIME during it, but wouldn`t it be more powerful if it was also on the New Moon? Wouldn`t the energy be even greater? Question 3, If the New Moon OR Grandaddy Power Period falls on an eclipse, wouldn`t that day also be more powerful? Chris

Ive wondered about these too. Almost a year has now passed since I started using New Moon Astrology. Apart from articulating postive changes in my thinking I have also experienced some external pleasant surprises which were also on my wish lists. All totally fascinating. Anyway, there is a group that does group meditations on the Full Moon. www.lucis.trust.org While not focused on the individual as much as the collective it seems to be full of very committed people! I learnt of these meditations as they are held in a hotel near where I work. Ive been to one but didnt find it very accessible.

Hello Chris & yes... I'm still here and have been wanting to ask Jan about her research here...

She is traveling now and I was able to connect with her just this morning. She wanted you to know that her research with ALL forms of Wishing always works best immediately after the New Moon. And, as you wrote... even if you are wanting to "get rid of things, habits, addictions, etc." ~ Wishing to shift your focus in other directions is an option... or you can flat out wish to eliminated anything from your Life Experience. Whatever your positive wording or approach... Jan emphasized that it always works best immediately after the New Moon.

Jan also has discovered that during a Full Moon (or shortly thereafter) ~ anything put in writing or meditated upon is a good time for re-evaluation. This is a period of time best suited for insights upon any issues of concern to you... and to reflect upon this data and simply, "be with" ...any information that comes to you.

Also, it is to your advantage to make some Wishes (writing them down) specifically within 48 hours after the New Moon during your Granddaddy Power Period because there is added energy present during this time for manifesting.

And yes, you are correct Chris that any form of Wishology done during an eclipse does utilize the additional energy in the atmosphere to assist any person with their intentions. I found a short comment from Jan about this during the Solar Eclipse of October of 2004. She wrote this short comment in her Membership Feature, New Moon Power Days: "This New Moon in October is especially potent for wishing (New Moon or during your Granddaddy Power Period) since it occurs in combination with a Solar Eclipse."

Hope this Helps Chris & Happy Wishology! ~ And thank you Desmond for this Link to lucis.trust.org. I look forward to checking this site out to find out more about their meditations during Full Moons. After all, isn't raising the "Collective Consciousness" what it's all about anyway? ~ Thank you! ;)

PS ~ ...and perhaps you know this but it has been Jan's experience that any form of Wishology just doesn't have the momentum if Wishes are made during the breif, Void-of-Course Moon Times.

These Void-of-Course Moon Times are always listed on Jan's Homepage.

The correct Lucis trust web site is www. lucistrust.org.
Sorry about that.

Also, I've recently discovered the 'Maharishi effect' . A google search reveals some interesting ideas to say the least!?

Dear Desmond! ~ ...Thank You So Much for introducing me to this concept of the "Maharishi effect."

I just, 'Dogpiled' it (an awesome search engine - fyi)... and have been reading much about this and the subsequent Meissner Effect!!!

Since we're both talking about the same thing here... I thought you might enjoy, The 100th Monkey by Ken Keyes, Jr.

Ever read this before? Scientific fact. ...methinks we need a new "thread" for this!

Oh well... ~ Here it is anyway! ~ Thanx & enjoy! ~ Aquamarine

The Hundredth Monkey by Ken Keyes, Jr.

The Japanese monkey, Macaca fuscata, had been observed in the wild for a period of over 30 years. In 1952, on the island of Koshima, scientists were providing monkeys with sweet potatoes dropped in the sand. The monkeys liked the taste of the raw sweet potatoes, but they found the dirt unpleasant.

An 18-month old female named Imo found she could solve the problem by washing the potatoes in a stream. She taught this trick to her mother. Her playmates also learned this new way and they taught their mothers too.

This cultural innovation was gradually picked up by various monkeys before the eyes of the scientists. Between 1952 and 1958, all the young monkeys learned to wash the sandy sweet potatoes to make them more palatable. Only the adults who imitated their children learned this social improvement. Other adults kept eating the dirty sweet potatoes.

Then something startling took place. In the autumn of 1958, a certain number of Koshima monkeys were washing sweet potatoes - the exact number is not known.

Let us suppose that when the sun rose one morning there were 99 monkeys on Koshima Island who had learned to wash their sweet potatoes. Let's further suppose that later that morning, the hundredth monkey learned to wash potatoes. Then it happened!

By that evening almost everyone in the tribe was washing sweet potatoes before eating them. The added energy of this hundredth monkey somehow created an ideological breakthrough! But notice...

A most surprising thing observed by these scientists was that the habit of washing sweet potatoes then jumped over the sea - at that very same time, colonies of monkeys on other islands and mainland troops of monkeys at Takasakiyama began washing their sweet potatoes! Thus, when a certain critical number achieves an awareness, this new awareness apparently is communicated from mind to mind.

Although the exact number may vary, this "Hundredth Monkey" Phenomenon means that when a limited number of people know of a new way, it may remain the conscious property of these people. But there is a point at which if only one more person tunes into this new awareness, a field is strengthened so that this awareness is picked up by almost everyone!

Aquamarine,
Thanks for this. I had heard of the 100th Monkey effect. It is good to be reminded of it. I hadnt heard of the Meissner effect before.
What do you think are the implications of this?
