I come from some Japanese discussion board on Jan's New Moon Wishes. Several people, including me, over there are wondering how long we should keep the paper on which we have written down our new moon wishes. Should we keep it until next new moon or for ever?

If somebody gives any commnet on this matter, I will greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Hello Mint! ~ ...I am glad you asked your question for clarification as to how long you should keep your New Moon Wishes?

Or in other words ~ ...what would be the best thing to do with them after writing them down on paper?

I have asked Jan about this in the past... and she emphatically encourages every individual to find their own, unique way of releasing them from their material existence (in written form)... into the non-physical (being not in possession of them any longer).

Trust Yourself!

Jan has found no correlation between the science of Wishology & what people physically "do" with their New Moon Wishes after they have been created. Even Jan herself is not consistent with what she does with her own written New Moon Wishes... because she trusts her feelings at that time.

It has been Jan's experience that once you have released the conscious intention of your deepest desires (by writing on paper your Wishes)... you have brought your intentions into a tangible form. Also, you are raising yourself to the emotional level of experiencing the Joy of what it is you are Wishing for.

This Emotional Joy assists you co-creating with the Infinite your desires & Wishes with the assistance of the New Moon Energy in the Atmosphere. Therefore, you begin to Manifest it (via this Law of Attraction).

It has been my experience that what you do (outwardly) with any form of Wishology is not as important as how you choose to consciously resonate with the Wishes you make (with positive emotions & joy ~ inwardly)!

Jan discusses this on the last few paragraphs on page 9 of New Moon Astrology.

I hope this helps Mint! :)

Thank you very much for your reply, Aquamarine. Your comment has totally made sense to me. It sounds like very good thoughts on the matter. Still, I would like you to clarify one more point for me because a part of your reply was a bit surprising to me.

In the beginning section of Part 1 of Jan's book (It would probably be useless to mention the page number in the Japanese translation I have in hand), there is a passage like this--" I am frequently asked what to do with the paper on which people have written down their wishes. I say to them 'As long as you don't discard it, you can do whatever you like to do with it.'"

So I assumed that I had to keep the paper--at least for some time-- after I had written down my wishes. Yet, it seems to me from your comment that it is OK even if I discard the paper immediately after I have released my wishes into the tangible form. Is my understanding correct?

I am really looking forward to your clarification on this matter.

Hi Mint! ~ ...very poor choice of words when I said, " ...into the non-physical (being not in possession of them any longer). "

The following quote from Jan in New Moon Astrology is what i meant to say:

"Personally, at the end of each Power Period I (Jan) date my list and put it away and don't look at it again unless a series of things begins to unfold that seems strange to me ("What's that all about? That's not a normal pattern in my Life...) ~ ...and then I'll go back to my Wish list and realize: Aha! That had to happen in order for wish number eight to come true!"

There is more to read but there is an example.

I hope this helps Mint! Sorry about my poor word choice. By saying, "not in possession of them any longer" ~ ...what I meant was not mentally staying attached to the Wishes I wrote... the seeds have been joyfully planted and there is no need to "dwell" or meditate on making the Wishes manifest.

FYI ~ It's been my experience that the more i dwell on my Wishes... i seem to actually end up "pushing them away" because then i am focusing on the lack of what i truly desire... instead of the joyful emotion of KNOWING the seed has been planted and now Nature will co-create with my positively created / worded / Wishes / Soul Desires.

Happy Wishology!

Aquamarine, I do really appreciate your thoughts as to what kind of mental attitudes we should take once we have made wishes. Actually your comments gave me a hint for a question I have asked myself once in a while--why do I seldom recall my wishes once I have written them down ?-- Now I feel that I have been doing--even though unsoncsiously-- what I should do about those wishes.

Now let me get back to my initial question-- How should I handle the wishes physically, not mentally?-- In the discussion board mentioned above, someone said "When I have made wishes, I discard the previous month's wishes." I felt it was too early judging from Jan's comment you quoted in your previous reply. Still, it is also true that in New Moon Astrology Jan doesn't tell explicitly how long we should keep the wishes. That's the reason I wanted to ask somebody in this site about this matter. Personally I think it best to keep-- not to discard-- the wishes as long as possible even if I get totally oblivious of them. What are your thoughts?

You don't need to say sorry, Aquamiarine. My initial queston was too brief. I should have explained in more details what I wanted to ask people here. In any case, your comments have given me deeper thoughts on New Moon Wish-Making. Thank you very much!

Hi all,
I ve held onto my wish lists, I write them in a secret note book. How else could you evaluate if they are working for you?
Im very much looking forward to the Scorpio New Moon. This will complete my first year using New Moon Astrology.

Aquamarine, I have another one for you. As Mint stated, in Jan`s book, (page 9 in mine), Jan states "Clients often ask me what to do with their wishes after writing them down, and I tell them to do whatever they like, short of throwing them away". I have always thrown mine away the following month when I make a new list---figuring that if I kept the old one, that would technically be more than 10 wishes on paper at a time, therefore I would have too many. But if I now understand correctly, and I can keep all the old ones, doesn`t it matter that in a year, you now have possibly 120 different wishes? (providing you don`t keep making the same ones every month). I would think that it would cause the energy to get too scattered for any of them to manifest. That`s why I have always just kept 10 at a time. Please clarify. Chris

Aquamarine,
Hello. I posted the above letter in November. I have been waiting for a response. I tried to send you an email & also a private message, but it seems both are disabled through here. Are you still around here? Or does anyone else know Jan`s feelings on this? Chris

Hi Chris,

I think the answer is it does'nt matter if you keep your lists or not. It is the timing when you make your wishes that is important. Holding on to the list is not amplifying their effect. The effect happens at the moment the wish is written down.
That's what I understood anyway.
Anyway be careful what you wish for!!
