Relative Receptivity to AFTS

Astrology For The Soul rocks! Almost everyone i've shared it with has been genuinely interested in and inspired by their profile as written by Ms Spiller.

The exception has been people with NN in CANCER. I have been repeatedly astonished at how a NN Cancer looks briskly over the lists at the beginning of the profile, declares that they are nothing or only slightly like her, and then sets the book aside and changes the subject. I have seen this enough times that i am clear that this is a real pattern.

What is going on? Is NN Cancer really that out of touch, that unable to perceive herself? Is it just that finding oneself mirrored in the pages of an astrology book is too painful a notion to entertain? Any insights?

Hello "thisone!"

Well, happy to share with you my 2 cents for whatever it's worth.

My North Node is in Cancer in the 3rd House.

I can certainly relate to how, there was a time in my Life... when the more nurturing, inward, emotionally sensitive qualities of Cancer was something I wanted NOTHING to do with!!!

Why? - my internal "mind-map" was predisposed towards manifesting myself in the World & being appropriately recognized for it! (South Node in Cappy).

So.... after years of trying to Master, control, and manipulate the Material Realm... (and finding no real JOY in trying to do so) - a few more "nudges" from the Infinite lead me down a path where I s-l-o-w-l-y began to embrace my NN in Cancer.

Remember, the Archetypes of Cancer include, Natural Law - vs. - Man's Law, kind of an unfolding process... so by definition... NN in Cancer is a process - most NN/Cancer people I know don't just "Jump on the Band Wagon" & MAKE it happen(NN/Cancer) - that's Capricorn.

Who know's if the people your are referring to are just plain unable to see themselves in this mirror... or if the realizations are just too painful... who knows?

Guess all I can encourage you to do is to be of assistance "in their process..." - as they become more conscious of their Soul Intent (NN / Cancer).

I know I did not consciously "ask" the Universe to "nudge" me along my path - some experiences of which were quite painful / physically & emotionally - BUT NOW... I'm "in" a very good place (inwardly)... finding joy by embracing my North Node + trashing that Capricorn approach to Life! -

Been there... Done that... Won the T-Shirt! - But it was a process - "thisone"

Perhaps you also need to look at the House Placement of their North Node & Aspects to the Nodes? - Here you might find answers as to how they may unconsciously be sabotaging their growth process (the path towards FULLY embracing their North Node!

If you haven't already... do their Natal Chart on Jan's Website and see if Aspects & House placement give you additional information.

YES!!! - Astrology for the Soul "ROCKS!" - I at one time wanted to buy a case of AFTS for X-Mas gifts for everyone I know... but alas... not everyone is ready for these insights... it's a process!

Your two cents is VERY interesting, thank you. I would like to know more about this sign archetype you mention, and others, if the information is available someplace you can direct me to.

It took me a long time to respond to you because i was so disheartened by your use of the term "Man" to refer to humans.

Thanks a lot for taking time to explain how it is/was for you.

I sincerely apologize for any Male/Female stigma or connotation you may have interpreted in my wording... I apologize for that!

I ask for you to forgive that with your understanding that my North Node is also in the 3rd House - of communication!

This is Kinda New to Me!!

I am more accustom to my own Understanding of Life or "Pursuit of Truth" - (9th House South Node) - without having to explain it to others.

When you mention, "I would like to know more about this sign archetype you mention" - Astrology for the Soul is by far the leading resource for Archetypes of the North Nodes in each Sign.

For Archetypes of the Sun Signs themselves... their are certainly a number of quality books that work in depth with just this... your best bet is to ask a reputable New Age Book Store for their recommendation and find one that "feels" right to you!

Sorry about the "Man's Law" thing - please understand that what I was of course referring to was "Natural Law" vs. "the Laws that people create."
