The Astrological Edge May 2017

Now that Venus has gone direct and is moving forward in energetic Aries, we will begin to get forward momentum back. It is likely, however, that we will still feel some residual resistance in the areas of love and finance (both ruled by Venus) until the 3rd, while we are in Venus retrograde’s shadow phase.

Similarly, Mercury will station direct on the 3rd, but its shadow phase will last until the 15th. It will be best to wait until after this date to initiate new agreements and make major life decisions. We will feel another energetic shift as the North Node moves from Virgo to Leo (the Lunar Nodes move backwards through the zodiac) on the 9th, ushering in themes of creativity, joy, childlike wonder, and generosity over the next 16 months. As we move out of the Virgo North Node cycle that began on November 11, 2015, we may feel a bit lighter as we become more aware of the need to balance work with play.

On the 15th, Mercury ingresses into Taurus, where it will remain for the rest of the month. Even when direct, Mercury in Taurus implies a slow and steady pace of thinking and planning. In general, people will favor a methodical approach to problem solving. The remainder of the month will be ideal for long-term planning and evaluating our resources.

The North Node in Leo: Creating Our Own Destiny
On the 9th, the North Node will move from Virgo into Leo. The Lunar Nodes represent points where the orbit of the Moon crosses the ecliptic (the Sun’s path in the sky from our perspective on Earth). The North Node is the zodiacal point where the Moon crosses the ecliptic on its way north, and the sign it is in sets overarching themes for our planet. While the North Node was in Virgo (November 2015 to May 2017), the prevailing energies supported constructive participation, following through on commitments, establishing clear boundaries, and improving physical well-being.

Worldwide, the Virgo North Node promoted an analytical mindset that was helpful in . . . . . Members can READ THE FULL COLUMN here.
