Get the Big Picture of What to Expect this Month as the Planets Affect Your Sun Sign

Saturday, December 15, 2018

Taurus (4/21 - 5/21)

Whether attached or single, new beginnings in love are on the horizon, but you’ll need to be patient. Because we’ll be in the shadow phase of both Venus and Mercury retrograde this month, most of December will be best spent finishing what you’ve started and reconnecting with people from the past. By December 24th, you’ll be in the clear to make positive relationship-related changes for yourself.

This month’s New Moon (December 7, Eastern Standard Time / December 6, Pacific Time) will be in Sagittarius and your 8th house of intimacy and shared finance. It will be excellent timing to collaborate with others on a business venture. If you’re working on a new money making idea, keep things in the seed phase for now and plan to fine tune your plan over the coming months.

It could take until the New Year for you to get a new idea off the ground, as we’ll be making our way through the end of the current Mercury retrograde cycle (November 16th - December 6th). Mercury will enter Sagittarius and your 8th house of intimacy and shared finance on the 12th. If misunderstandings occur, don’t take things personally. Use conflict as an opportunity to learn and grow with loved ones.

Venus, your ruling planet, will spend most of the month in the sign of Scorpio and your 7th house of partnership. It won’t be good timing to initiate a new committed partnership or suddenly break things off if you haven’t been thinking of doing it for some time. Keep the status quo, and take space if you need it.

On the 17th, Venus will clear the shadow phase of her last retrograde cycle (October 5th - November 16th). After this date, you’ll have much more clarity about your feelings when it comes to current or future partnerships.

On the 21st, the Sun will ingress into Capricorn, marking the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the Summer Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere. No matter where in the world you live, the December 21st Solstice will be a time to reflect on the previous year and slow your pace to work with deliberate intention. Harness your resources and set your sights on personal goals. This Solstice will be a positive time for Taurus to look into training programs, school, or finding a mentorship. It’s possible you’ll have the opportunity to teach or share your skills with others as well.

This month’s Full Moon in Cancer on the 22nd will light up your 3rd house of communication and learning. You could learn important information that helps you feel differently about a situation that’s been troubling to you. You may have misjudged yourself or another. It’s possible that you need to let your guard down and express your generosity without worrying about receiving anything in return.
