Depending on the position of the Planets, Ascendant and Midheaven at the time of your birth, different foundational characteristics emerge as themes operating within your identity. The contents of this section contain a brief description of these themes to aid you in expanding your self-awareness.
The beauty of knowing where our talents lie is that having this objective information leads to greater to self-acceptance. This is also true for our ability to understand and accept others.
Most of us aren’t any one type, but rather a unique combination. For example, if you have five placements in fire, three in earth, three in air and one in water, you are primarily a fire person. You have the qualities of earth and air in a balanced way (ie: you can be both practical and abstract), and you LACK the quality of water (a total of 0 or 1 is a lack- not so much within you, but in comparison with most people).
If you have a total of 0 or 1 in any category, you might want to read the characteristics of that category to gain a sense of a quality that most others express more strongly than you do. You may then choose put energy into developing that quality in yourself, or you may choose to simply let others know that you are not naturally tuned in to that quality.
With the above example (1 in water), in relationships that are important to you, it may be in your best interest to tell the other person: Look, I care very much about how you feel and I don’t want to hurt your feelings, AND I’m not always immediately AWARE of others emotions. So if I hurt your feelings, please tell me so we can discuss it, because it would never be my intention to hurt you.
One of life’s challenges is to be true to ourselves and to learn how to be ourselves effectively and consciously so that we also have rewarding relationships with others.
