April, 2016 will offer us the opportunity to regroup, reevaluate, and adjust long-term plans. An overall stabilizing energy will prevail, which can promote thoughtful decision making on the part of those in positions of leadership. Practicality will be a strong theme, as represented by several planetary aspects.

Pluto in Capricorn, turning retrograde this month, can encourage authority figures to pull back and assess what changes are necessary in order to achieve long-term stability. Moreover, with five planets being retrograde by the end of the month, the emphasis is on slowing down in order to connect with our inner self and resolve the past.

With Jupiter in Virgo still in orb of a trine to Pluto, our ideas are now focused on deciding on the planning stages necessary for assuring solid future progress. Saturn (retrograde since March 25), Mars, and Mercury retrograde this month are creating a slowing-down effect that will allow us time to reconsider our actions. With Saturn and Mars in freedom-loving Sagittarius, our urge for a more liberating life can be steered in a practical direction.

The Sun will shine in Aries through the 18th, boosting energy levels, optimism, and enthusiasm for new endeavors. Mercury in Taurus, however, will turn retrograde on the 28th, and we will already be in the “shadow” phase of this retrograde cycle as of the 14th. Additionally, Mars will turn retrograde on the17th. Therefore, though it is advisable to take note of inspiring ideas that come to mind this month, it will be best to wait to take action on them. Until after Mars turns direct again on June 29, time is best used for working at furthering or completing projects already begun. After June 29, we’ll be free of the slowing-down and need-to-repeat effects of retrograde Mars, and by mid-July, we’ll have the necessary planetary support for making life easier and initiating new ideas or relationships.

As Pluto begins a new retrograde cycle (April 18 to September 26) this month, a thoughtful energy will be present in the atmosphere that can help governmental agencies and world leaders to reconsider their current courses of action. We may witness the revocation of certain laws that no longer serve the public. Prevailing energies will encourage world leaders to focus their attention on solving long-standing problems and to work toward finding sustainable solutions.

On a personal level, retrograde Pluto will give us the opportunity to do some internal “house cleaning.” Authority figures in our lives, such as teachers, bosses, or parents, may pull back to reassess their positions in order to determine what the most effective path forward should be. This can be a beneficial time to rework relationships and renegotiate a . . . . . READ THE FULL COLUMN!

Every month, on the day of the New Moon, the energy in the atmosphere opens to receive new seeds. For centuries, farmers have used the New Moon cycles for planting their crops. We can use the same potent energy for stating our dreams and goals. To use a New Moon power day, simply write down, by hand, a maximum of ten wishes or goals that you would like to manifest in your life.

Because this month’s New Moon occurs in Aries, you may want to include some wishes on your list concerning the following categories, which are especially related to that sign: authenticity, innocence, self-discovery, impulsiveness, straightforwardness, honesty, courage, new beginnings, independence, boldness, taking action, self-direction, self-reliance, leadership, and competition.

The Aries New Moon marks the single most powerful day of the year for wishing and making a new beginning. Don’t miss this chance to harness the atmospheric energies and direct them into helping your dreams for your life come true.

Sample wishes:
“I want to easily find myself acting on my constructive inner impulses”
