The Astrological Edge for June 2016

Although Mercury has gone direct, Mars, Saturn, and Pluto are still retrograde, giving this month a contemplative yet empowering mood. This is a time to wrap up works already in progress and consider the next moves. A window of opportunity opens for seeing how we can transform the hopes and dreams we have for our lives into a sensible plan of action.

Mars will go direct on the 29th. Until then, the focus will be on internal work—digging for the root causes of problems and seeking the mental and emotional shifts necessary to remove self-imposed limitations. Making preparations now for successful action can be as important as action itself.

A Saturn-Neptune square (in effect during 2015-16) is exact this month (on the 17th). Prior to that, on the 13th, Neptune stations retrograde. This can cause some temporary confusion concerning daily activities. We may feel some uncertainty or lack of confidence in overtly pursuing our goals. The purpose of this square is for us to become more humble in our attitude toward accomplishments, an attitude that will result in more support from others and feelings of equality and brother/sisterhood.

While Saturn is traveling through Sagittarius (December 23, 2014, to December 18, 2017), problems related to religious zealotry are scheduled to surface, creating opportunities to restructure organizations whose fanaticism has clouded the practical judgment of their members. Saturn can help to set limits and reign in self-righteous beliefs and actions that are harmful to the greater good. Currently retrograde, Saturn can be a powerful force for restructuring religious, governmental, or business entities that may be out of alignment with the best interests of humankind. In your personal life, focus and structure are needed for best results now. This is an excellent time to plan your day ahead the night before, even making a “to be accomplished” list.

Neptune in Pisces has been activating our love for one another and encouraging a sense of unity across the planet. The Saturn-Neptune square is working to shift global consciousness to promote systems that can benefit all and foster peaceful coexistence. As Neptune turns retrograde this month, people worldwide can get in touch with their inner truths and release their belief in ideas that no longer serve them.

June is an excellent month to tune in to our intuition and look for practical ways to achieve our dreams. With Neptune turning retrograde, we are being given more access to our subconscious. This month kicks off a . . . . .  Members can read the rest of the column here.

Every month, on the day of the New Moon, the energy in the atmosphere opens to receive new seeds. For centuries, farmers have used New Moon cycles for planting their crops. We can use this same potent energy for stating our dreams and goals. To use a New Moon power day, simply write down, by hand, a maximum of ten wishes or goals you would like to manifest in your life.

Because this month’s New Moon occurs in Gemini, you may want to include wishes on your list concerning the following categories that are especially related to that sign: writing, speaking, mental rapport, understanding different points of view, debate, sales, social skills, tact, acceptance, lighthearted approaches, social skills, the logical mind, intelligence, quick thinking, conversation, communication, curiosity, formal education, and wittiness.

This month’s New Moon occurs on Saturday, the 4th, at 9:59 P.M. E.S.T. The first 8 hours after the New Moon is exact are the most powerful for wishing, but up to 24 hours later will still work. For the exact best times for writing your wishes at monthly New Moons, check out www.janspiller.com within the three days prior to each New Moon.
