April 15, 2014 (25? LIBRA)
This Lunar Eclipse brings in a fast-moving pace necessitating quick shifts in your emotional body in order to use the opportunities presented. Benefit will come when you choose the path of ?playing fair? and bringing balance to all areas of your life ? especially to your relationships.
Balance means a dynamic of equal give and take, and this Eclipse brings awareness to situations where you are giving more than you?re receiving, or vice versa. You may have a pattern of ?playing the martyr? – sacrificing your own needs and desires, and over-giving to people who are not reciprocating in kind. This co-dependent pattern drains your vitality and your capacity to love.
At the opposite extreme, you may habitually discount others? feelings and act in ways that are selfish and unfair to others. By taking more than you are willing to give, you alienate people and end up feeling isolated and lonely.
In either situation, you?re learning about fairness, whether that means learning to be more fair to yourself or to another. You?re also learning about interdependence ? how to collaborate, cooperate and negotiate in partnership, honoring the other person?s needs and desires without sacrificing your own integrity and authenticity.
Things to watch for: Sidestep the temptation to make assumptions about what other people want and need, and to withhold your own thought processes. The key to successfully navigating this Eclipse is open communication. When both parties openly share their opinions and insights, a more intelligent decision can be made and it will be easier to create a win-win outcome.
October 8, 2014 (15? ARIES)
The Lunar Eclipse occurring October 8 brings in a fast-moving pace necessitating quick shifts in your emotional body in order to use the opportunities presented. Benefit will come when you choose the path of independence and overcoming the fear of new beginnings.
Being independent has a lot to do with having the courage of your convictions. This is a time for tuning into and trusting your instincts, and being willing to stand up for your beliefs, even if it creates conflict. By being willing to face the fear of not being liked or of being rejected for your ideas, you create change, and with change there is growth. When you take the risk of asserting your individuality, you strengthen the spark of vitality within you.
As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries holds the energy of new beginnings, and you may feel the pull to “start over” in some area of your life. In any new beginning, there is an element of the unknown. Your challenge will be to trust yourself – your instinctual ability to handle what is ahead – and to trust in the process of life.
Things to watch for: Because one of the lessons of the Lunar Eclipse in Aries is to learn about assertiveness, there may be a temptation to suppress your individual desires. This leads to feelings of resentment, and anger can surface in inappropriate ways, thereby pushing people away and creating a negative version of independence.
This is a time to be especially aware of the importance of honest 2-way communication. Communicate your honest thoughts and feelings, even at the risk of generating disharmony, and then ask for the other person to communicate what they are feeing. If emotional upsets occur, the key to success is to tell the truth and ask the other person to reveal their truth. Then both of you can grow and discover yourselves. This approach will create a deeper and more authentic harmony in the long term.
